Understanding Cut Increments
LED tape light cannot be cut just anywhere with a pair of scissors. The tape is made up of small, individual circuits linked together. You can only cut the tape at designated copper solder pads, which occur at specific intervals.
This distance is called the Cut Interval. Because of this, your final fixture length will usually be slightly shorter than your exact measurement. For example, if you have a 50-inch cabinet, but the tape has a 2-inch cut interval, your final tape length will be exactly 50 inches. If it has a 3-inch interval, your closest fit is 48 inches.
